In November 2024, Wanjala received his first senior call-up to the Harambee Stars for the COSAFA championship in South Africa. Although Kenya was eliminated after matches against Zimbabwe and Namibia, the experience was invaluable for the young defender. It offered him a glimpse of the demands of senior international football and fueled his ambition to excel on the global stage.
