Kenya Police FC will surely take pride in having achieved what big spenders like Bandari and KCB have repeatedly fallen short of — winning the Premier League title.
Kenya Police FC have done what many expected, yet few truly believed — they are the 2024/25 FKF Premier League champions. After years of near-misses, major investment, and growing pressure, the Law Enforcers sealed their first-ever top-flight title with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Shabana at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
It’s been a long journey for the club that joined the top tier just three seasons ago. From battling relegation in their debut season to lifting the Mozzart Bet Cup in 2024, this latest triumph has confirmed their transformation into a real powerhouse in Kenyan football.
A Statement Win to Seal the Title
Kenya Police needed only a point to be crowned champions heading into the final weekend. But they did more than just play it safe — they went for the win, and Brian Okoth’s 75th-minute goal was all they needed to silence Shabana and write their name in the history books.

With the win, Police not only dethroned Gor Mahia but also proved that strategic spending, smart coaching, and resilience can deliver results. The club now takes pride in doing what fellow well-funded sides like KCB and Bandari have repeatedly failed to achieve — lifting the FKF Premier League trophy.
From Big Spenders to Big Winners
Kenya Police FC made waves in 2021 when they earned promotion to the FKF Premier League. But rather than just trying to survive, the club made their intentions clear — they were here to compete.
Their recruitment policy quickly turned heads. The club signed high-profile players and staff, drawing comparisons to continental giants for their financial muscle. However, ambition alone wasn’t enough. Their debut season saw them flirting with relegation and finishing mid-table the year after.
The breakthrough came in the 2023/24 season when they won the Mozzart Bet Cup. That victory gave them belief, experience, and most importantly, pressure relief. With silverware already in the bag, the focus shifted to conquering the league.

Etienne Ndayiragije’s Impact
It wasn’t until the arrival of coach Etienne Ndayiragije in November 2024 that everything clicked. The Burundian tactician brought with him tactical discipline and calm authority. Under his leadership, the team showed improved consistency, tighter defending, and better game management — all crucial traits in a title run-in.
Since his appointment, Police have gone from chasing the top four to leading the pack. Sunday’s title-clinching victory capped off an incredible turnaround under Ndayiragije, who has now etched his name into the club’s folklore.
The Rewards of Glory
Kenya Police FC will pocket Ksh 5 million in prize money, along with the FKF Premier League trophy. But more significantly, they will now represent Kenya in the CAF Champions League — marking their debut on the continental stage.
It’s a well-deserved opportunity for a club that has grown in every department — from its technical bench to its squad depth. And with continental football now on the horizon, Kenya Police FC will likely invest further to compete with Africa’s best.
Gor Mahia Bow Out in Style
While Police were celebrating in Machakos, former champions Gor Mahia were doing their part to push the title race to the wire. K’Ogalo defeated Ulinzi Stars 3-2 in a thriller at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
Samuel Kapen gave Gor an early lead, only for Yakeen Mutheli to level shortly after. MVP Austine Odhiambo and striker Benson Omalla added two more goals in the second half, and although Michael Otieno pulled one back for Ulinzi, it wasn’t enough to delay Police’s party.
Gor’s late-season form may have been impressive, but they’ll now reflect on missed opportunities that allowed their rivals to claim the crown.

Tusker and Sharks Share Spoils
Tusker FC also had a slim mathematical chance of winning the league — but they needed both a win and a Police slip-up. In the end, they got neither. The Brewers were held to a goalless draw by Kariobangi Sharks at Ruaraka Grounds, effectively ending their faint hopes.
It was a disappointing finish for a club that once dominated the league, and a reminder that consistency is everything in title races.
Relegation Drama Unfolds
As the top of the table drama played out, tension also gripped the bottom end. Bidco United stayed rooted to the bottom after a 1-0 defeat to Kakamega Homeboyz, while Nairobi City Stars kept survival hopes alive with a 2-1 win over KCB at St. Sebastian Park.
Benjamin Mosha and Joseph Mwangi scored the vital goals for City Stars, while Vincent Ondabu got the consolation for KCB.
Elsewhere, AFC Leopards thumped FC Talanta 3-1, Sofapaka edged Posta Rangers 2-1, and Bandari were held to a goalless draw by Mathare United. Mara Sugar and Murang’a Seal also played out a scoreless draw at Awendo Green Stadium.
In a season where every game has mattered, Kenya Police FC have emerged as worthy champions — bold in ambition, resilient in execution, and now, history makers in Kenyan football.
