The countdown to the 2024 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) is officially on, with the Kenyan government confirming that ticket sales will begin on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. The announcement was made by Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya during a media briefing at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, one of the main venues set to host the tournament.
Mvurya revealed that all CHAN 2024 tickets will be available exclusively online, making it easier and more convenient for fans across the country to secure their seats. With prices set between KSh 200 and KSh 1,000, the government aims to make the matches affordable for all Kenyans and encourage nationwide support for the Harambee Stars.
“As a country, we have advanced in terms of technology. Many of our services are online, and I don’t think Kenyans will have a problem buying e-tickets. The portal will open on Wednesday, July 16, so people can purchase their tickets,” said Mvurya.
The CAF-approved tournament, jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, will run from August 2 to August 30, 2025. The CHAN competition exclusively features players who compete in their respective domestic leagues, giving local talent a major platform on the continental stage.
In his remarks, Mvurya stressed the government’s preparedness to address any ticketing concerns and assured fans that the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) will provide support whenever needed.
“We don’t foresee any challenges. Transactions will be conducted online, just like many other services in the country. Should there be any issues, FKF and the LOC will step in to assist,” he added.
The decision to offer affordable ticket pricing reflects the government’s intention to foster a patriotic atmosphere at the venues and give as many Kenyans as possible the opportunity to rally behind the national team.
“Kenyans should now prepare themselves as ticketing will open this week. The prices will range from KSh 200, 500, to 1,000 to allow fans to support the Harambee Stars in large numbers,” Mvurya confirmed.
