St. Joseph’s Kitale made headlines with a resounding 3-0 victory over the reigning Kenyan champions, Highway High School. This match was a crucial one for St. Joseph’s, as it propelled them to second place in Group A with five points, just two points behind group leaders and defending champions, St. Mary’s Kitende. The performance was a testament to St. Joseph’s Kitale’s determination and skill, as they outclassed their opponents with a blend of tactical discipline and attacking flair.

The victory over Highway High School sets up a pivotal match for St. Joseph’s against St. Mary’s Kitende. A win in this encounter would secure their place in the semi-finals, while a draw or loss would leave their fate dependent on the outcome of the match between Highway High School and Bukedea. Given their current form, St. Joseph’s Kitale will be confident of achieving the result they need to progress in the tournament.

Musingu School’s Unstoppable Run

Musingu School continued their impressive run in the FEASSA Games with a 2-0 victory over Rwandan side APE Rugunga. This win solidified Musingu’s position at the top of Group B, with two wins and one draw from their three matches. With this result, Musingu has already secured their place in the semi-finals, with one match remaining in the group stage.

Musingu’s success in the tournament so far can be attributed to their solid defense and clinical finishing. The team has shown great composure under pressure, managing to maintain clean sheets while capitalizing on their scoring opportunities. Their next match will be crucial in determining their semi-final opponent, but Musingu will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run as they aim for the title.

Kenyan Girls Face Tough Challenges

In the girls’ football category, Kenyan teams faced tough challenges on Day 5. Nyakach Girls suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat to Uganda’s St. Noa, while Butere Girls were held to a goalless draw against Tanzania’s Alliance. Despite these setbacks, both teams remain in contention for the semi-finals, but they will need to deliver strong performances in their final group matches to advance.

Nyakach Girls, who have shown resilience throughout the tournament, will need to regroup and focus on their next match to keep their hopes alive. Butere Girls, the reigning Kenyan champions, will also need to find their scoring touch if they are to progress further in the competition.
