Gor Mahia AGM Date, Venue, and Agenda

The upcoming AGM is set to take place at the Basketball Court Arena at Nyayo National Stadium, beginning at 7:00 AM. The meeting will provide a crucial platform for members to discuss and decide on key matters, including the election of club officials.

  3. Appointment of auditors for the year 2025

Ambrose Rachier Confirms Re-election Bid

Incumbent chairman Ambrose Dickson Otieno Rachier (ADOR), who has been at the helm of Gor Mahia for 17 years, has officially declared his candidacy for re-election. Speaking to the media, Rachier confirmed that he has already prepared all necessary documents for his nomination.

“I will be submitting my papers for re-election. I have all of them here—my KRA certificate, CRB clearance, HELB clearance, EACC clearance, and DCI certificate. All candidates must produce these documents to be eligible,” Rachier stated.

The veteran lawyer has played a pivotal role in stabilizing Gor Mahia both on and off the pitch, overseeing multiple league title wins and navigating financial challenges. Despite being in charge for nearly two decades, he insists that under the club’s current governance structure, he has only served one official term as chairman.

Membership Registration Requirements and Deadline

To participate in the elections, Gor Mahia fans must be registered as official club members. Rachier emphasized the importance of proper registration and set March 31, 2025, as the deadline for fans to complete the process.

“We are calling on fans to pay Ksh 1,200 to our account at Bank of Africa or through our paybill number 350100 before the deadline. Only registered members will be allowed to vote and participate in the AGM,” Rachier explained.

This move aims to ensure transparency in the elections and prevent non-members from interfering in the decision-making process.

Strict Security Measures to Prevent Hooliganism

Gor Mahia has faced incidents of hooliganism during past AGMs and elections, prompting the club to introduce new measures to enhance security. According to Rachier, only those with valid membership cards will be allowed entry into the AGM venue.

“Please do not appear at the AGM if you are not a duly registered member. We are going to issue cards to all those who are registered, and you will be required to show that card at the entrance. This is to avoid hooliganism and ensure a smooth election process,” he clarified.

A Crucial Election for the Future of Gor Mahia

The upcoming elections will be critical in shaping the club’s future. With Gor Mahia consistently competing for the FKF Premier League title and aiming to improve its performances in continental tournaments, leadership at the top will be essential.

While Rachier has expressed confidence in his leadership, some factions within the club believe that a new direction is necessary to drive Gor Mahia forward. Potential challengers are expected to announce their bids in the coming weeks, making this one of the most anticipated elections in recent club history.

With fans eager to see the club progress both on and off the pitch, the outcome of this AGM and election will play a significant role in determining Gor Mahia’s trajectory for the years ahead.
