FKFPL :Homeboyz Extend Unbeaten Run to 12 Matches while AFC Leopards Held to Goalless Draw

The midweek Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) fixtures delivered exciting action, with Kakamega Homeboyz continuing their strong form, while AFC Leopards dropped crucial points in a frustrating draw against Sofapaka.

AFC Leopards Held by Sofapaka in a Goalless Draw

AFC Leopards failed to build on their 2-1 win over Mara Sugar as they were held to a 0-0 draw by a determined Sofapaka at Dandora Stadium.

Despite creating chances, Fred Ambani’s side struggled to break down Sofapaka’s well-organized defense. The result sees Ingwe drop to fifth place with 34 points, making their upcoming Mashemeji Derby against Gor Mahia on March 2 even more crucial.

Sofapaka, on the other hand, move up to eighth place with 29 points, showing clear signs of improvement compared to their relegation battles last season.

Kakamega Homeboyz Cruise Past Murang’a SEAL

Kakamega Homeboyz delivered a dominant performance at Mumias Sports Complex, securing a 3-1 victory over Murang’a SEAL.

Moses Shummah opened the scoring in the 27th minute before doubling his tally in the 38th minute, putting the hosts in control. Lucas Maina pulled one back for SEAL just before halftime, but Oliver Majak sealed the win for Homeboyz in the 81st minute.

With this result, Homeboyz extend their unbeaten run to 12 matches, climbing to sixth place with 33 points. Murang’a SEAL, struggling for form, now sit in 13th place with 23 points, winless in their last seven matches.

Posta Rangers and Mara Sugar Share Points

In another crucial fixture, Posta Rangers and Mara Sugar played out a 1-1 draw at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.

Faustine Ojiambo gave Posta the lead in the 32nd minute, but defensive lapses allowed Christopher Raila to equalize just 10 minutes later.

The result helps Posta move to 14th place with 22 points, while Mara Sugar sit 11th with 26 points, staying just outside the bottom half of the table.

KCB Edge Bandari to Return to Winning Ways

At St. Sebastian Park in Murang’a, KCB secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bandari, courtesy of a seventh-minute goal from Joshua Nyatini.

The win moves KCB to fourth place with 35 points, keeping them within touching distance of the top three. Bandari, on the other hand, suffer their second consecutive defeat, dropping to seventh place with 32 points.

Ulinzi Stars and Kariobangi Sharks Play Out Stalemate

In the second match of the Machakos doubleheader, Ulinzi Stars and Kariobangi Sharks played to a 0-0 draw.

Sharks’ struggles continued as their winless streak stretched to 10 matches, with only one win in their last 18 league outings. The result leaves Ulinzi Stars in 10th place with 28 points, while Sharks remain 12th with 24 points.

What’s Next in FKFPL?

With the Mashemeji Derby looming, AFC Leopards will need a strong response against Gor Mahia to stay in the title race. Meanwhile, Kenya Police and Tusker continue their battle for the top spot, as teams in the mid-table fight for consistency.

Kakamega Homeboyz’s red-hot form makes them a team to watch, while Kariobangi Sharks and Murang’a SEAL must find a way to end their alarming winless streaks.

The FKF Premier League season is heating up, and every point matters as teams push for silverware, continental qualification, and top-flight survival.
