Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced the signing of Ghanaian winger Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United in a £55 million transfer, marking their fifth addition of the summer window and a major boost to new manager Thomas Frank’s project in North London.
Kudus, 23, makes the move across London just a year after joining the Hammers from Ajax. The highly rated forward, who registered 13 goals in 65 Premier League appearances, is set to bring flair, pace, and versatility to Spurs’ attacking options as the club continues to reshape under new leadership.
Speaking after sealing his move to Tottenham, Kudus expressed excitement over working with Thomas Frank, who was recently appointed Spurs manager following his successful spell at Brentford.
“The most important part of why I come here is the project, and how the manager sees I can develop under him,” Kudus stated during his unveiling.
“Where he’s come from and seeing the amount of talent he’s developed to become great players, it’s a big sign of why I wanted to work under him as well.”
Kudus is now the fifth new arrival at Tottenham this summer, following the signings of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich, French defender Kevin Danso, teenage Croatian talent Luka Vuskovic, and Japanese defender Kota Takai. The signings underline Spurs’ commitment to rebuilding a competitive squad that can return to the top four and fight for silverware after a transitional 2024–25 season.
The Ghana international’s football journey began at the Right to Dream Academy in his homeland before moving to Denmark at age 17, where he joined FC Nordsjaelland. His performances quickly drew attention across Europe, leading to a move to Ajax in 2020.
In Amsterdam, Kudus gained prominence for his creativity, technical brilliance, and ability to operate as an attacking midfielder, winger, or even false nine. He made 87 appearances for Ajax, scoring 23 goals and becoming a key figure in their domestic and European campaigns.
His Premier League switch to West Ham in 2023 was seen as a major coup for the East London club. Kudus delivered in flashes, scoring some memorable goals, but also faced stiff competition for game time. His performances nonetheless caught the attention of several top clubs, but Tottenham moved swiftly to secure his signature.
Thomas Frank, known for nurturing attacking talents such as Ollie Watkins and Bryan Mbeumo during his Brentford days, is believed to have played a pivotal role in convincing Kudus to join the Spurs revolution. Sources close to the club say Frank envisions Kudus as a central figure in his fluid, high-energy system — capable of unlocking defenses with his direct running and close control.
He only wanted Spurs.
Welcome to North London, Mohammed Kudus.

Kudus’ arrival is also expected to excite Spurs fans eager to see more attacking options on the wings. With Heung-min Son entering the twilight of his career and Dejan Kulusevski needing consistent support, Kudus is seen as a player who can deliver goals and assists while fitting seamlessly into the Premier League’s demanding style.
Off the pitch, the Ghanaian is known for his humble personality and commitment to community causes. His story — from the dusty pitches of Accra to the bright lights of London — has inspired a new generation of African footballers.
Ghanaian fans have reacted with pride and optimism to the news, with many seeing the move as a step closer to Kudus becoming one of Africa’s top exports in global football. His performances in the upcoming season will be closely watched both in England and across the continent.
Tottenham’s recruitment drive, which now includes Kudus, signals a shift in approach under new sporting director Johan Lange, who has been tasked with delivering a more strategic and long-term recruitment model.
Kudus will wear the No. 14 shirt at Spurs and is expected to join preseason training immediately. He could make his debut in one of Tottenham’s upcoming friendly matches as the club prepares for a challenging campaign that includes a return to European football.
With his mix of flair, hunger, and top-level experience, Mohammed Kudus could prove to be one of the signings of the season — and a key figure in Tottenham’s ambitions moving forward.
