Paris Perfection – PSG Annihilate Real Madrid 4-0 to Storm Into Final
Paris Saint-Germain delivered a masterclass at MetLife Stadium, thrashing Spanish giants Real Madrid 4-0 in the semi-final of the FIFA Club World Cup. The win not only secured the Parisians a spot in Sunday’s final against Chelsea but also ended Xabi Alonso’s perfect start as Los Blancos boss after six consecutive wins.
With the stadium packed mostly by white shirts supporting Real, the early momentum suggested a classic European showdown. But the mood shifted dramatically just minutes into the game. PSG came flying out of the blocks, pressing aggressively and pouncing on Madrid’s defensive lapses.
The French champions opened the scoring within the first nine minutes after Ousmane Dembélé dispossessed Raul Asencio near the box. As Dembélé was brought down by Thibaut Courtois, Fabian Ruiz capitalized on the loose ball and slotted it into an empty net to give PSG the early lead.
Just three minutes later, Antonio Rüdiger’s mishit pass gifted the ball straight to Dembélé, who didn’t waste his second opportunity. The French winger calmly slotted a left-footed finish past Courtois, doubling PSG’s lead and leaving Madrid in disarray.
The relentless pressure from PSG was suffocating. They looked sharper, faster, and far more cohesive. Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi nearly added a third with a long-range effort that just missed the target. However, he wouldn’t be denied a key contribution for long.
Midway through the first half, Hakimi threaded a pass across the box to Fabian Ruiz, who was perfectly placed to finish with composure and make it 3-0. It was his second goal of the match, capping off a sensational 30 minutes for Luis Enrique’s side.

Real Madrid looked stunned. They couldn’t gain control of possession, and PSG’s high press continued to cause chaos at the back. Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, another standout performer, came close to adding a fourth before halftime, firing narrowly wide after a quick break.
PSG went into the break with a commanding 3-0 lead, and the second half picked up where the first left off. The French side kept pressing for more, with the speed and creativity of their front line overwhelming Madrid’s defense.
Desire Doué thought he had added a fourth just after the restart, finishing off another brilliant PSG move, but the goal was ruled out for offside after a VAR review.
Real Madrid made minor improvements in possession but failed to create any meaningful chances. Gianluigi Donnarumma, PSG’s goalkeeper, had little to do as Los Blancos struggled to register any threatening shots on target.
Kylian Mbappé, facing his former club for the first time since his headline-making transfer to Real Madrid earlier this summer, had a quiet night by his standards. The superstar forward had a chance from long range but blasted it over the bar, drawing jeers and cheers alike from both sets of fans.
As the match wore on, PSG continued to look the more likely to score. Hakimi played in Gonçalo Ramos, whose low shot skimmed just wide from a tight angle.
Real Madrid’s only notable attempt in the closing stages came from Eder Militão, who tried his luck with a speculative shot that failed to trouble Donnarumma.
PSG sealed the emphatic victory in style in the final minutes. Bradley Barcola danced through the Madrid defense with quick feet before setting up Ramos, who calmly finished past Courtois to complete the 4-0 rout.

The win extended PSG’s defensive dominance — they have now kept five consecutive clean sheets in knockout games across all competitions. More impressively, they outclassed the 15-time UEFA Champions League winners in every department.
Real Madrid, who were unbeaten in the tournament and under Alonso’s short tenure, were completely outplayed and outpaced by a side full of hunger, energy, and purpose. With Chelsea awaiting in the final, PSG will head into the decider brimming with confidence and determined to add another global title to their collection.
Fabian Ruiz’s performance stood out as he orchestrated play and scored twice, while Dembélé’s early brilliance set the tone. The midfield trio dominated proceedings, and Enrique’s game plan executed to perfection — control possession, press high, and punish mistakes — left Madrid no chance.
From kickoff to the final whistle, PSG proved why they are not just European champions but serious contenders for global dominance.
